Hardware Design Services
Internetworking Designs offers board-level hardware design services to companies in the
networking and telecommunications industries. With our extensive design experience with
WAN and LAN interfaces and processor-based systems, we offer:
- System Architecture Design
- Major component selection, including processor, memory, interface, internal functional
blocks and power supplies
- Board definition and design
- FPGA and CPLD design
- Supervision (or subcontracting) of PCB design and assembly
- Prototype hardware checkout and software integration
- Design verification testing
- Supervision of US and International Standards compliance testing
- System test procedures
- Production test procedures and test fixtures
A typical board-level design project consists of the following steps:
- Product definition and block diagram
- Major component selection
- Functional Specification, including definitions of all functional blocks,
all interface connectors and the software interface to the hardware.
- Logic design, schematic capture and Bill of Materials
- PCB design instructions
- CPLD and FPGA detailed design, implementation and simulation
- PCB design and review (outside design house)
- PCB fabrication and assembly (outside vendors)
- Prototype test and initial software integration
- PCB redesign and cleanup (if required) during software integration
- Test Procedures
- Design verification and standards testing
- Hardware release to manufacturing
Design reviews are held throughout the project to insure that the resulting product will
meet all of the client's goals and requirements. The split of project tasks
between Internetworking Designs, the client's engineering and production staff
and outside vendors is flexible and is adapted as appropriate for each project.
